Capn Jack loved finish washers and oval head screws to give a salty flair to interior fastenings. We ordered some in bronze from Fair Winds Fasteners to attach side skirts to a model train layout we are finishing.
We also used some marine grade sapele plywood for the layout, and in a pinch I think the framework and planking might make a good raft. Seems I ordered about 100 more each than I needed...this is just one way that I keep a clandestine chandlery inside the house.
