20 Dec 25:
Ahoy! Here's a little update on the Fall activities...In anticipation of America 250 celebrations and our local Sail 250 Maritime Rendezvous June 12-14, 2026, Skipper is working on our sailor garb. One outfit will be inspired by this 1976 Bicentennial stamp. The COntinental Navy was formed October 13, 1775 and had growing pains, no ships, no ordnance, no personnel, no gunpowder. Coastal traders with the West Indies and privateers gathering British prizes helped with the gunpowder issue, and the promise of pay helped with recruitment.
In exciting sponge news, we wrote a review article on the NRS Deluxe boat sponge for Small Boats Monthly. The combination of sponge and microfiber covering is a good match, especially for wiping down those last few bits of grit and water.
We've been writing for Small Boats Monthly and WoodenBoat magazine since 2018. SBM is a digital product published and the sponge article is our 90th article. We have a few more articles in work, and if you have some ideas, let us know and we'll get you in touch with our Editor Jenny. Drop me a note to lewis dot kent at google mail.
