Alcort Sunfish and Sailfish Parts

09 May 18:

Our buddy Howie is cleaning out our parts bin and we scored some nice vintage parts.

Here's some blocks for the wooden booms.

Different deck plates for fiberglass and wooden boats.

There's a nice little rudder pin amongst the other parts and the shorter vertical plates for the Sailfish series boats and wooden Sunfish.

The wooden Sailfish and Sunfish had different bow handles with the little tab.

So ZSA ZSA has a "new" bow handle now!

Wilcox and Crittenden Inc stamp.

Sorted out all of the new batch of parts and our other parts, then reorganized the parts wall. Give us a holler if you need something!

  2. Hello! My name is Jacob, and I just inherited an old sailfish (fiberglass). I'm looking for a replacement screw for the rudder assembly. I'm not sure exactly what to call this part, but it's a screw which runs vertically, appears to have a square "neck" to keep it from spinning while you tightens a wing-nut on the top deck to hold the rudder in place. Do you happen to have a piece like this? Thanks a lot!

    3. Sorry, not currently. You might try Jamestown Distributors and search for bronze carriage bolts. Or post a Wanted Ad in The Sunfish Forum. Good luck!

  4. Yes, the fiberglass Super Sailfish MKII uses the same size sail and spars as the Sunfish. Intensity makes a nice replacement sail, white with no logo.

  6. Yes, please see our post from yesterday. There are 2 different size Sailfish handrails. The 11' 7" Standard Sailfish has a smaller handrail than the 13' 7" Super Sailfish series. Standard Sailfish handrails are 28 inches long with 2 handholds and Super Sailfish handrails are approximately 41 inches long with 3 handholds. Port and starboard are interchangeable, they will take a very slight curve when installed. http://smallboatrestoration.blogspot.com/2020/06/alcort-super-sailfish-handrails.html

  8. Just purchased a Dolphin SR, 14 without a sail, mast and rudder. The rudder bracket on the stern is also broken. Looks like Sunfish parts will work. What do you have to help me with the restoration? Hull cleaned up well and the fiberglass repairs will be easy. Frank Heinisch, Geneva NE

  9. Hi, we're not familiar with the Dolphin but it looks like Sunfish bits would work. Check ebay for parts or visit The Sunfish Forum and post a Wanted Ad. Good luck!
