It just so happens that the playset has a very sturdy 4x6 beam that spans 10 feet, which would be very handy to hoist an outboard or lift one end of a boat or trailer for maintenance. And in an even stranger coincidence the hoist is perfectly lined up with the work deck.
"Work Deck." There's a misnomer. Maybe "Nap Deck" or "Hurl Insults and Peanuts at Squirrels Deck." In any case, we sure do like the method of construction, these decks are easy to lay out, construct and they have a very small non permeable surface footprint. We just saw a baby skink a few days ago so we have a couple of housekeepers living below the deck keeping the area clean of bugs, and turtles think snakes are delicious.
