Chuck's Boat Club

My friend Chuck has a small Sunfish fleet and runs a sailing camp for kids. He is gearing up for Girl Scout sailing program and set up a weekend sailing get together. There are several really nice natural beaches and parks around the area to launch, this was Shoreline Park in Gulf Breeze.
First you have to get the boats there, and this repurposed jet ski trailer did the trick. It can carry 4 Sunfish.

This boat hull is a Hurricane Katrina survivor, the sail and spars survived Hurricanes Ivan and Dennis. Chuck's dad rescued the hull and we found the sail and spars being used on a Scorpion that was beyond repair. So together they make a nice couple!

  1. Does Chuck still run a Girl Scouts Sailing Program? If so, I'd love to learn more and possibly write an article about it for the Gulf Breeze News. Please feel free to contact me at Melanie@GulfBreezeNews.com
    Thanks!
