Replaced a Sunfish ridder pintle and spring, first had to tap the old corroded pintle out.
Slid in the new pintle, through the spring.
Installed the washer and cotter pin. Did not bother to install the lock ring.
The pintle can be installed either way.
my pintle is bent in place. It has the old O ring keeping the spring in place. How do I get that off?
ReplyDeletePush it off with needle nose pliers. Order a new pintle kit from Laser Performance, it comes with a cotter pin in addition to the O ring, much better setup. You might have to straighten the pintle to get it out.
