Boats Then and Now

 10 Feb 23:

A few local boats from times past, working the rivers.

And a current day storage building, most likely a remnant of the waterfront warehouses. Might make a good boatbuilding shop?

And one of our current favorites, MARINER V, a leisure model of a traditional Chesapeake Deadrise workboat.

Pagan River Update

17 Aug 22:

Wanderings, checked on Pagan River happenings. MARINER V, Chesapeake Deadrise workboat replica with a few modern conveniences.

ARLA KAY, a beautiful steamboat adaptation of a Navy lifeboat. Duplex expansion engine. She cruises the Pagan several times a year. We have chatted with her very nice owner, and hope to learn more about his fine boat.

Amazing to transport back in time to the early 17th Century and envision the trade schooners that used to tie up in these waters.

Sunset over Cypress Creek. Smaller boats found their way up these waters, the Amazon deliveries of the day coming from and going to England.
