10 Apr 20:
Spring of 1994, playing with Capn Jack's first O'Day Day Sailer II CYANE, hull number 5709. Skipper has always been the Dock Commander and Dock Wench, she is a pro at handling lines and keeping the boats calm at the ramp. Capn Jack dropped the centerboard, shipped the rudder, raised the main and loosed the jib. They were quite the team, poetry in motion, unspoken efficiency demonstrated by two old salts.

1980 Drascombe Lugger ONKAHYE Spring 1994 Corpus Christi TX
10 Apr 20:
Came across a few photos from ONKAHYE's Corpus Christi days. We liked to launch downtown at the L-Head ramp, the ramp location has since been moved. Some days we never left the breakwater, other days ONKAHYE would romp in the bay.
Skipper would tend to the boat while I drove the truck. She'd get ONKAHYE spun around and pointed out. If other folks were launching she'd walk ONKAHYE down to the end of the pier and move her around the end, to be clear of other folks who preferred the same side of the ramp.
Once the truck and trailer were parked we'd send out the bumkin, ship the rudder and drop the centerboard a bit. Then Skipper would get ONKAHYE a little walking start, step aboard and unfurl the jib. We'd crawl away for the dock on some jib while the main went up, and we'd be off sailing.

O'Day Daysailer CYANE 24 Nov 18 Back To Sea
24 Nov 18:
Hurricane season is coming to a close and the temps are more enjoyable, so we launched CYANE to put her back on the strap lift. Weather should be nice for a day sail over the next few weeks.

1980 Drascombe Lugger ONKAHYE 23 Jan 18 Strap Lift
23 Jan 18:
We slid ONKAHYE off the trailer today in a drop of dew, thanks to the great drop frame trailer that Eddie English set up for us. Top of the tire not even under water but the boat is floating.
The plan was to get her over to the strap lift while we had the tide to use the ramp. Motored over with the Suzuki 6 and got her in the straps.
I stepped the mast while the boat was in the lift, that was a first. Had to move a little slower but got everything rigged in about 40 minutes.
Took a few shots then we watched the sunset.
