Alcort Super Sailfish Handrails

16 Jun 20:

We got an order for Super Sailfish handrails, cut them out of some beautiful cypress. First we cut the blank to length.

Then we cut the blanks to width.

Trace the pattern and cut out the handrail with a jigsaw.

Rounded the edges with a 1/8th inch roundover router bit.

Video.

Comparison to Standard Sailfish handrails.

For more handrail info, type handrail in the search box.

If you'd like to order a new handrail, click on the Paypal Buy Now link below. The handrails will be cut from rot resistant cypress and shipped without a finish, so you can finish as you like. We will mark the location of factory holes but leave the drilling to you, as you may be able to match the hole up with your specific boat. Please select the appropriate handrail for your type Sailfish. The 11' 7" Standard Sailfish has a smaller handrail than the 13' 7" Super Sailfish series. Standard Sailfish handrails are 28 inches long and Super Sailfish handrails are approximately 41 inches long.

Super Sailfish MKII Handrail and Drain Plug

The Super Sailfish MKII handrails were missing a few screws, so we replaced them with #10 3 inch brass screws using a yankee driver.

There was a big hole by the bow handle, not sure if it was for a drain plug, but it looks drain plug size. So I went looking for a drain plug and found one in the parts bin.
