Sailing Phoenix

Our Sunfish "Phoenix" was pretty dusty, so we rinsed her off and went for an afternoon sail!

The Skipper grew up sailing Corpus Christi Bay. Phoenix was a barn find that Captain Jack restored from just a hull.

  1. Hi guys-

I'm in NJ and looking for a pre-1972 Sunfish rudder and tiller assembly. Sorry to post on your blog like this, but I couldn't find any contact info. Is this something you could help with? Please email me at clayton.e.johnson [at] gmail [dot] com if you can! Thanks so much, and you have an awesome site and do great work!

  2. I have a rudder, tiller and all hardware including deck plate, keel plate, and hard to find carriage bolt. All parts are original except stainless pin that holds rudder to deck fitting. Tiller shows normal bridle wear and tiller extension has been repaired.
I will sell it for $200 plus $35 shipping if you are interested.

Also check eBay, some parts may be found there.

And thanks for kind words about the blog, it is fun!, and meant to help people with their restorations.
