We pick up these 50 foot packs of 1/8th inch New England Ropes Dacron cord at West Marine, it comes in handy for a lot of jobs. Also known as Dac Cord, it is low stretch and versatile. We have used it for topping lifts, sail lashing, tie downs, flagpole halyards and to decorate a tiller. It has a 530 pound load and is great to tie down items on the trailer. The packs are inexpensive too, around $7.99 USD, they are usually located in a small basket back by the spools of line at the back of the store.
