We visited Lee Hall Station to see their new caboose, freshly restored. The Depot looks fantastic as well. It is refreshing to see other folks out there who like to restore things, and since we enjoy railroad archaeology this was a fun trip.
The Depot was moved from across the street and tracks, that is why there are no tracks on the bay window size of the depot. The caboose sits on a small section of rail that is not connected to the main line.
We'd like to have a boat house one day that mimics a railroad freight depot. Nice wood floor, high open ceiling, large sliding doors.
Skipper taking inventory of the fabric, she was not impressed.
Nice size desk to lay out boat plans.
We were touring the upstairs when the local CSX coal train rolled by, with coal dust flying off the top of the hoppers. Must have been fun duty to live at the depot.
