We learned a few different options for stitching small boat sails while working on the Nutshell Pram lug sail.
Double zigzag is preferred.
If you machine does only straight stitching, use 2 or 3 rows of straight stitches.
This stitch os called a straight zigzag, as there are 3 straight stitches, then a zig or a zag. If your machine does this, this stitch is the time saver.
