I had a hunk of tree left over from a recent tree trimming, and thought why not shape it into some lumber? After a million passes through the planer, I had a very small piece left. I cut it down onto a few slats and it is on the workbench drying. There might be enough to make a small shelf.
This exercise made me appreciate the lumber I can pick up down the road, even if it is twisted like a pretzel sometimes.
