Sorg 15 Runabout WILLOW 12 Aug 20 Trailer Loading

 12 Aug 20:

We loaded WILLOW on her trailer so she can go to the Suzuki Dealership and get some routing maintenance, a new impeller and gear box oil. SHe might also get a battery switch. Our Ford Edge SUPER SANDY worked the ramp.

WILLOW cranked right up and we went out to do a couple of looptys before heading to the ramp next door. She pulled right in and only needed one fender.

We have a nice long bow line on WILLOW, so to load her I give her a push backwards and once her bow drifts aft of the rear trailer guides I flick the line over the top of the guide and pull WILLOW up to the bunks. The winch brings her up the rest of the way. Muck boots are helpful, and stay wary of slippery ramps.

We got WILLOW in the driveway, flushed the motor and give her a quick rinse. We also drilled pilot holes for new trim screws, the old holes had been filled with THIXO a few weeks back.

New screws.

Trim reattached, WILLOW is cleared for supersonic runs again.

SUPER SANDY suggested that SUPER GUMBY try out her new hitch, so there was a driveway swap.

Surprisingly, SUPER GUMBY's Outback hitch sits about 2 inches higher than the EDGE. Probably because the Subaru hitch location has the hitch going through part of the bumper cover, whereas the UHaul hitch that I used on the EDGE sits under the bumper cover.
