Shrouds for CYANE

04 May 22:

CYANE did indeed make it to Virginia, and she has a nice spot on the back patio, right in the middle of our courtyard and all the family activities. Since CYANE's shrouds, forestay and turnbuckles are of uncertain age we should replace them soon, in case Webb wants to circumnavigate her. They're probably 1971 vintage. We made some calls and located our new rigger, in Deltaville, VA. I planned to tow CYANE over for him to do the work but he suggested I just remove the rigging if I was comfortable with that, and bring just the rigging. Darn, CYANE was excited about a ferry ride across the James River.

So we'll undo the turnbuckles, shrouds and forestay...

...and we'll take the spreaders as well to be checked out.

Log of CYANE.
